Post-op Day #34

I have been struggling with some infection and I am just hoping the Keflex is doing the job. Only 1 more day on the antibiotic. We shall see.

I am so ready to get going and doing more but I can only do as much as my body will allow, right now. I definitely feel the refusal through fatigue, achy lower abdomen, achy lower back and sore backside.

So, as I said in my previous post, even though my physical regime is on slow, I can start doing what needs to be done for my nutritional needs and for optimal weight loss. I have been reading lots of articles about nutrients that are good for peri-menopausal women and just for women 40-50 in general. Also, I have been seeing a lot of things that are good to eat to reduce the inflammation process in the body which can help decrease some heart disease risk and can decrease our body's production of cortisol which, in too large amounts, is bad for everything in our body, especially the belly fat which comes from being 40 and over and also from menopause.

I have started today, listing my foods again on Livestrong.com. I am trying to eat 6 small meals a day. This may help in the transition of sitting around and eating whatever and whenever I want........which a lot has been out of boredom. Every couple of hours I will either be eating a balanced meal or a healthy snack. Meijer has wonderful produce and I picked up some: apples, oranges, berries, cherries, mangoes, apricots and kiwi. I already had squash, zucchini, celery, carrots, cauliflower, soybeans, broccoli and lettuce here at home. Paired up with some baked potatoes, lean chicken and fish, eggs, brown rice and whole grain pasta I have some good ideas for meals this week.
