Hello!

Today I am going to post a few goals J and I have been making concerning our homeschooling.

1. Be Christ centered.
2. Nurture mind, body and spirit.
3. Tackle a new language.
4. Learn about other things besides academics.

My last day of work was Monday and we celebrated with dinner at Famous Dave's BBQ. We had not eaten there since the first of June!! It was so delicious.

We are trying new things everyday to see what kind of typical day we are going to have. Jordan has been a little" yawny" in the mornings. I guess it's because she gets up and kind of vegges out until we start. So this morning after breakfast, we headed to a local park for a beautiful 1.15 mile walk. We talked and laughed and embraced God's creation. I think it was definitely a good thing. We are members of the local YMCA, but they are closed this week for their yearly cleaning overhaul. J and I have talked about heading to the Y in the mornings before school. That may not work out everyday because I know she has a friend that goes up there in the evenings. Also, the Y offers a homeschool P.E. class on Wednesday, but I am not sure of the time yet.

The wonderful thing about homeschool is, it is negotiable and adaptable. Don't get me wrong, I feel it is important to have a routine and structure, but it is nice to know that while we are working into this we are free to do just that!

A New Adventure

Well, I am back with a brand new adventure. Yeah, yeah, I know....I haven't finished blogging on my past adventure ....YET! Ha!

My last day at work is Aug. 27th. As a family we have decided to homeschool this year. J is starting the 3rd grade. We are very excited!! We did school this week and it has been very enjoyable for us both.

This will be a learning experience for us both and I hope you feel compelled to stop in for the ride. I will try to give any helpful hints I gather along the way. :)

In my next post I will outline some of our goals for this first term. (ends 10-19-07)
