My husband and I hiked the Two Lakes Loop trail in Hoosier National Forest today. 13 miles of up and down hills. We completed it in 5 hrs. 45 min. My body did fine!

Blood work from the doctor all came back great. I really believe the hormones were my problem. I will weigh in tomorrow.

Fabulous day today at Red River Gorge!! It was a misty, off and on rainy sort of day, but it just magnified the beauty around us.

We did a 6-7 mile hike and the picture to your left is at the top of Courthouse Rock.

To the MD this am to discuss difficulty losing weight. I had lost only 6 lbs. since last seen in office on July 1st. Discussed going off bcp last week (that's where the six pounds came in), my training schedule and calorie intake. Even though I don't have any other symptoms, she drew blood to check thyroid levels. She believes it very well could be the bcp. She wants me to try a dietary amphetamine for 4 weeks to see if it helps.

Even with all this, I feel fantastic!! I feel lighter on the inside; I know I have become stronger in muscle and heart. I will "Keep on, Keep on" as me and my Mom say. Even if I never lose another ounce, I feel much healthier!!

To the gym this afternoon: biked hills = 180 cal

Taking things up a notch tomorrow. My aspirations for the next 2 weeks are to work out in the mornings before we start our day of school, weight training 5 days a week (of some nature) using heaviest weight possible, cardio interval training between the arc trainer, eliptical, treadmill and bike. My goal is to try to jump start my metabolism. I have been training so hard and following all my food to the T with no results on the scale really. I will take all my measurements and record here.

I will follow a 1500 cal/day diet, low in sugar, low in saturated fat yet high in fiber, complex carbohydrates, monounsaturated fats and lean protein.

I also want to gear my thinking, prayer and meditation concerning this task toward getting fit to embrace life and what's ahead instead of thinking about a number on the scale I need to see before my surgery.

7 lbs. down since my last post, but it has been brutal! I have been working out at least 4 times a week and one of those times with a trainer. I keep hoping everything will start to kick in and the weight will start peeling off versus trickling off.

I am still attending WW, but I have been using MyPlate.com to track my calorie input and activity daily to try to see any thing that might be hampering my weight loss.
