Reach the End

My personal weight loss and physical fitness finale.

Sunday, February 24, 2008

Hello!! 4 lbs. down today. :) That is a total of 9.5 lbs. Yeah! I am very happy and excited. I had a wonderful workout with Carie, my little sis, on Saturday morning. It was my first in about 3 weeks. I could tell I have been sick after I was done but it felt really good to spin my wheels on the recumbent bike.

I will be going out of town to Savannah, Georgia Wednesday morning and won't return until Sunday, March 2. I have no worries about staying on track. There are so many alternatives available these days. I am sure I will be taking some snacks with me as well. I plan to workout Monday and Tuesday this week before we leave on Wednesday. We will be doing lots of walking around Savannah and on the beach while we are away.

I am on my way to losing 100 lbs.!!!!!!

Boy, am I feeling better. Still trying to pace myself so I recover fully and completely. I leave for out of town next week for a few days and I 'll need all my strength.

Had a fabulous dinner with Mom last night. She prepared a tuna casserole minus the cheese and crackers but with rice. It was delish. We also had a mixed green salad with a vinagrette and a small portion of raspberry dumplings for dessert. Felt so warm, safe and cozy....just like being a kid again. Thanks, Mom!!

Feel like everything is going very well. Not thinking about food very much and the cabbage really is wonderful for munchies in front of the TV. But I have definitely been watching less TV since feeling better.

Drinking the water is no problem for me thankfully because it is a known must for sucessful weight loss.

Not very hungry today so I'll try to keep things low today.

My menu hasn't been as well coordinated this week due to my illness last week but I have continued to achieve variety, which I always feel is key to helping you feel satisfied on a diet. My sister brought me over some of the Weight Watcher white chili yesterday and that was a bonus treat. Yum, yum!

Yesterday afternoon, when I had the munchies, I cut up some of a fresh cabbage head I had in the fridge and sprinkled a little salt on it and went to town. It really filled my need for something crunchy and salty.

Menu for rest of Week

Breakfasts = oatmeal, toast with peanut butter and banana, hot cocoa

Lunchs = tunasalad, tomato soup and grilled cheese

Dinners = spaghetti, chicken with rice and veggies, fat free grilled hotdogs with coleslaw

Snacks = bananas, apples, celery, pretzels, yogurt

I will let you know if I do any exercise before Saturday. Depends on my stamina.

Recuperating from Illness

Sorry I have been away for so long. The flu season has hit our area and I was one of it's casualties.

Anyway, I did weigh in Sunday and lost 5.5 lbs. I have been following my points but have not been able to exercise. I started with a high fever last Tuesday afternoon. I am hoping to regain my strength this week and begin exercising maybe Saturday. I might go and workout with my sisters at my little sister's work Saturday morning.

I will write more later about my menu plans for this week.

Ended up having some good ole tunasalad for lunch with crackers. I have been wanting that so bad and since we were trekking out for J's orthodontist appointment I asked Mom if I could swing by and use some of her condiments to spice up my tuna. She has these fantastic sugar-free bread and butter pickles from Kroger that are 0 points. I cut them into some relish for my tuna. I thoroughly enjoyed.

After visiting for a while I headed to Granny's for some sourdough bread and some starter of my own to make more bread. Sloan and J had a little snowball fight and tried to ambush me......HEEeellppp!! I have a bad ankle!!!! :)

My pinto beans smell fabulous in the crockpot and Mom gave me a killer recipe for low point cornbread: 1 cup cornmeal mix
1 cup buttermilk
Spray round cornbread pan generously with cooking spray
Cook according to cornmeal mix instructions

It is not as fluffy but it "delish". All total the entire pan is 10 points.

Chat later about the big E.

Had a crazy winter storm last night. Lot's of ice and snow. It is quite beautiful but not very appealing as far as going out.

I finished my night last night with a nice sandwich and potato wedges from the oven. I did not end up exercising due to the inclement weather. J's practices were all cancelled. Our power went out around 8:00pm for about 2 hours. We ended up hitting the hay early and reading by flashlight.

For breakfast I had a nice bowel of Honeycomb cereal. 1 1/2 cups of the smaller Honeycomb are just 120 cal. 1 cup of skim milk and 1 slice 35 cal bread toasted with 1 tsp of peanut butter. I always have to throw that protein in there or I will be famished by 10:00 am.

I think I want tomato soup for lunch and beans and rice for dinner.

I will report back on exercise today.

Tata for now!

The Finale

Today I have started my last diet ever! I need to lose 100 lbs. that I have carried around with me for the last 8 years. I am tired of it's fickle company and it is time to go.

My Mom, sister and I started WW today. We had all the literature so we are doing it ourselves at home. We also have a few from Church that are on the program and my baby sister has been on her own weight loss regimen since January and is doing fantastic.

I have had numerous and persistant problems with both of my feet that have limited my workout consistency but this time....feet or no feet I will workout.Ha! Cycling, rowing machine and upper body weights.

100 lbs. people........that's a lot of guacomole!!! But I am determined to do it, and determined to do it in 1 year. I will turn 38 yrs. old next January 24th and I will be physically fit. To0 many places to go, too many mountains to climb, wink wink! ;)

My Goals for Week 1
1. Drink my water
2. Turn off the TV
3. Exercise at least 3 times this week plus weights
4. Complete one household project

Menu for this Week

Dinners - pork roast with veggies/potatoes, beans and rice, steak with broccoli and baked potato, tomato soup with grilled cheese, veggie omelet with toast, tuna pastasalad
