What a crazy last 6 months it has been!!
In July and August I started having some intense pain in my lower abdomen and back. It really interfered with my exercise regime. It became apparent to me that something was wrong and I needed to go to the doctor.
I saw my OBGYN and after some additional testing it was confirmed that I was suffering from fibroid tumors and a pelvic hernia. Not the news I expected! The prognosis was that I needed surgery but.............since I was in the process of losing weight, I was informed that I should try to get within 15 lbs of my goal weight.
Well folks, here I am, still hovering just above 190 lbs. For the surgery I need to be around 170-175 lbs. The lack of exercise really has slowed things down but I obviously am not watching my calories close enough or I would have lost some weight. My body has continued to change however, because even though I have not lost any substantial weight since July, I am wearing smaller clothes.
I am going to start Weight Watchers at home today and I am going to lift upper body weights 3 days a week. My goal is to be 175 lbs by the beginning of February 2010.
