Walked about a 1.2 miles of Grotto Falls trail. Very rocky, slippery and steady incline. It makes me feel like I'll never be ready for Garnet Canyon but I know that is just my subconscious lazy, self- defeatist talking. Walked around Gatlinburg for about 2-3 hours; played Hillbilly Golf.

Walked down the hill and back again this morning. Drove up to hike Clingman's Dome....closed for construction! (bummer) Walked a little ways up Appalachian trail at Newfoundland Gap but was very muddy and my legs were not up for the incline.

Well another week has rolled around and I am only down 2.5 lbs. I worked out 4 days during the week for 1 hr each and kept my calories to 1200-1500 a day!! What's the deal? I know I have lost some more inches, I just thought I would see more on the scale. Maybe next week.
Today I want to take Toby for a long walk outside.......he and I both could use some fresh air.
Tomorrow we leave for the mountains and I plan on working out for a little bit everyday. Some good hikes in the park will be nice too.

Well I did 35 minutes on the recumbent bike on an ozark trail program, kind-of interval training because you have tough parts followed by easier parts and so on. Then I walked 20 minutes on the treadmill. (1 mile)

Back to the gym today after work for 30 minutes on the recumbent (I did a mountainous ride program, really worked the quads) and 20 minutes on the treadmill (1 mile). I feel my body contorting and changing. Maybe muscle building???

My L hip was sore for some reason this morning so I did 40 minutes on the bike and 20 minutes on the treadmill. Feeling stronger! No uniform exercise yesterday but did walk lots of stairs at work.

Can you believe it...I climbed 4 flights of stairs today, in a row,.....2 different times!! Whoo Hoo!
I rode the recumbent bike for 30 minutes and walked for 20 minutes on the treadmill. L knee felt OK today. Will do weight training at home tomorrow after G.R.O.W.

I walked on the treadmill this morning for 30 minutes and then did some resistant exercises with my new exercise ball.

Well, I have lost 33.5 lbs. Down 4 lbs from last week. I would still like to lose that much before June! Sometimes I feel like it might not be realistic. Oh well, I'll hang in.
Tonight I walked 40 minutes on the treadmill. I wanted to do longer but my L knee has really been throbbing and aching today. ?weather? Who knows...just popping the IB and getting ready to place an ice pack on it. I think I am going to try to add some weights or resistant training starting this week. Try to up my metabolism and burn more calories.

Good Day
Had a great workout today at Cardio Club!! 30 minutes on the recumbent bike for 5 mi. and 45 minutes on the treadmill for 2 mi. I did do some elevation on the treadmill. Took IB before workout. Still feel good 2 hrs after.

Well, fought the rain outside for 1/2 mile but had to finish it inside. Walked total of 1.5 miles very slowly to rest L hip and L knee, @ 2.0mph. Took me 45 minutes.

Today was crazy at work and I ran out of time for a lunch walk. Hurried to pick up Jordie and went home to get ready for a Spring Festival at a local elementary school. Home around 8:00 pm. In pajamas first thing and sabotaged workout. :(

Literally non stop motion from 9:20-4:00. Cleaning, scrubbing on hands and knees, reaching overhead cleaning bathroom ceiling, up and down stairs, worked up great sweat, drank plenty of water. All to get ready for Tyler and his girlfriend Sarah to come over. They left around 8:30pm but L knee and hip too sore and painful from activity of the day to pound on the treadmill.

Goal for today is to get a walk in outside; if the rain permits. L knee with muscle spasm directly above it this morning. Muscle fatigue from yesterday I suppose. I do remember my legs becoming shaking working in the bathroom.
Disappointed in weight loss. Last week, no weight loss....this week 2.5 lbs up! There is no possible physiological way this could be; except due to water weight and bowel issues. Have taken some laxatives that promote water retention in bowel??????? Who knows? All I know is I feel disappointed. Must see weight loss every week to get to physical weight I need by the first of June to increase my aerobic training.

I guess I should go all the way back and journal my first two months of fitness as well.
January 2006
I began January 8, 2006 with my lower carb eating and exercise to achieve many things. Weight loss, physical fitness, health, lower cholesterol, spiritual energy, longevity and to be a model embodiment of Christ Jesus's temple within me. I had been wanting these things for a long time and when my Dad asked me seriously during the holidays if I would like to get ready and go to Wyoming with him in the Fall, I was given that extra push I needed.
I began by parking under the parking garage at work, forcing me to walk at least one flight of stairs 3x's a week. But I did tell myself I would always take the stairs this month, if all I had to go was one floor up.
I used the treadmill at home, I walked stairs when I could and I started using the Cardio Club at SIGS to workout while waiting for Jordie to get done with gymnastics.
February 2006
February I stepped it up a notch an started walking at work at least for 10 minutes, I started visiting the Cardio Club on my two off-work mornings a week after I dropped Jordie off for school and I could feel myself doing more during my workouts and climbing stairs. But I caused a hip injury to my L hip, I believe by walking inclined on the treadmill. By the end of the month, I had a flare up of some tendonitis on my R shin. Even though disappointed, I drew the reins back a bit and with the advise of my Dad and husband Jim, my new goal was just to be active.
I started this by parking out farther in the parking lots at stores, walking at a slower pace during workouts, starting the recumbent bike and parking four blocks down the street from the entrance to my office at work. I had to lay off stairs for about a week and a half.
I made it to the end of February about 30 lbs. lighter and committed in mind, spirit and plane tickets to the Garnet Canyon in The Grand Teton mountains. Yee Haw!!
